Knee pain
A workout app for knee pain, built by a NASM Master Trainer
VeraForma is a workout app for knee pain. You tell it once where the knee hurts, and every session after that trains around it. The free movement screen films one squat and names the imbalance behind the pain, then the corrective work goes into your plan. Built by NASM Master Trainer Brad Glaser. Coaching, not medicine.
Free account, no card. Brad’s questions. One squat on camera. Then your results.
How it works
What the app actually does about a sore knee.
It trains the knee you have today.
Tell it once. Impact comes off the list, the movement is offered in the part of the range that does not hurt, and seated and supported options get preferred. You are not asked to decide each morning whether today is a jumping day.
It looks above and below the knee.
A knee that caves in is usually the hip or the ankle giving way. The free movement screen measures the checkpoints a trainer watches and names the pattern, so the corrective work goes where the fault starts — not where it shows. Why knees cave in →
It keeps watching while you train.
A sore knee makes people shift load onto the other leg without noticing. The camera draws the measured angle on your body and names it when that happens. The camera coach →

Every competitor cell has a numbered source below. Not found = not in the store listings and vendor pages we read. Partly = it does some of it, as the note says. Disputed = the company’s own pages and an independent review do not agree. Not compared = a cell we have not filled for that app. Figures carry the date we read them; spot something out of date and email VeraFormaApp@gmail.com.

Sword Health and Hinge Health are clinical programs with licensed clinicians behind them, and we do not claim to match that. The catch is access: for most people they are not for sale at any price, because they arrive through an employer or a health plan. That is the gap this app fills. Sword Health, row by row →
Questions
Straight answers.
Can an app help with knee pain?
It can coach around it. VeraForma trains the joint inside the range that does not hurt, takes impact off the list, and works the muscles above and below the knee that let it drift. Correcting that pattern can help ease the pain. It is coaching, not medicine, and it does not diagnose anything.
What changes once I tell it my knee hurts?
Impact comes out, the range shortens to the part that does not hurt, seated and supported options get preferred, and the camera keeps watching for the compensation a sore knee causes elsewhere. You tell it once; every session after that is already adjusted.
Why does it look at my hips and ankles for a knee problem?
Because the knee is the joint in the middle: it is where the fault shows, not usually where it starts. A knee that caves in is normally the hip or the ankle giving way, so that is where the corrective work goes.
Do I need a gym, or any equipment?
No. A phone you can prop up where it can see you, and whatever kit you have: a full gym, dumbbells, bands or nothing at all.
What does it cost?
The movement screen and Phase 1 of your program are free for good, on a free account with no card. Premium is $29.99 a month or $249.99 a year and adds the corrective Muscle Balance Program, the later phases and the fix spoken while you move.
Is this medical treatment?
No. VeraForma is coaching, not medicine. It does not diagnose, treat or cure anything and it does not replace your doctor or physio. If your knee hurts and nobody has looked at it, that is the first appointment, not the first workout.
